Outcast
By NightStrife

Quiet introspection,
Peaceful solitude.
Surround yourself with darkness
To fit your somber mood.

But all the while you're searching,
Though it may never end,
To cast away that heartbreak
And find one caring friend.

Outcast,
Run away from all the jeering eyes.
Outcast,
Run away from all the painful lies.
Outcast,
Lock yourself away inside your shell.
Outcast,
If they ignore you then it's just as well.

Never again. Never again.

Resigned to being lonely,
To never join the games.
You watch the others, brooding,
And think them all the same.

You scoff the ones who join you,
And turn them all away.
But still, inside, you're hoping,
That one of them will stay.

Outcast,
Run away from all the jeering eyes.
Outcast,
Run away from all the painful lies.
Outcast,
Lock yourself away inside your shell.
Outcast,
If they ignore you then it's just as well.

Never again. Never again.

They cannot understand you,
You say they never will.
But they don't get the chance to,
And you're left feeling ill.

There's more to life than darkness,
More feelings than despair.
You're trapped inside this vortex,
Break out and get some air.

Outcast,
Do not run from all the jeering eyes.
Outcast,
Tell the truth, then there's no pain from lies.
Outcast,
Open up and climb out from your shell.
Outcast,
They can accept you, it'll all be well.

Outcast,
Do not run from all the jeering eyes.
Outcast,
Tell the truth, then there's no pain from lies.
Outcast,
Open up and climb out from your shell.
Outcast,
They can accept you, it'll all be well.

Never again. Never again.

Never again.
