So I figured I'd try to do something big for my 100th post. I was actually working on something else when inspiration struck again. (It's amazing how the mind will do anything but the task at hand when grading the 40th or so undergraduate paper! sleep.gif ) Since this seems a little more meaningful than my other project, I dropped that to work on this.

Note that in the break, the word 'together' should be four syllables both to match the syllable count and to make it singable: "to-ge-e-ther"

You don't know me (Piro's song):

You take your coffepot
And bounce it off my head.
Apologize to me,
Then wish that you were dead.
But mental seppuku
Is all that you can do
'cause you don't know me.

You don't know the one
Who saw that you were late
And couldn't find your fare
You were in a state
This otaku
Who gave his card to you.
No, you don't know me.

But I didn't know that destiny would throw
The two of us together
Afraid and shy, I can only sigh
'cause you deserve someone better.

You put your hand upon
My bloody, broken nose
I stammer and I fear
blood getting on your clothes
Then I push you away
'cause I can't seem to say
What you mean to me.

Original: You don't know me
I don't care who else has done it, this will always be Ray Charles. (we miss you, Ray! sad.gif )

You give your hand to me
Then you say hello
And I can hardly speak
My heart is beating so
And anyone can tell
You think you know me well
But you don't know me.

You don't know the one
Who dreams of you at night
And longs to kiss your lips
Longs to hold you tight
I'm just a friend
That's all I've ever been
Cause you don't know me.

For I never knew the art of making love
Though my heart aches with love for you
Afraid and shy I let my chance go by
The chance that you might love me too

You give your hand to me
Then you say goodbye
I watch you walk away
beside the lucky guy
You'll never never know
The one who loves you so
Well you don't know me

Whaddya think?
