Here we see Largo's tender side.
Excusez-vous mon Japonaise exécrable, s'il-vous-plait. I actually came up with lines -- in French -- that rhymed and scanned -- but was persuaded that la Japonaise would be much more appropriate. But trying to fit a language into a structure meant for an entirely different one calls for taking some indecent liberties with Japanese syntax, particularly the song's device of using a fragment of the longer phrase to close each stanza. Constructive criticism is welcome, but please, don't bother showing me a better phrase unless you can show me a better phrase that scans. (That's a veiled invitation to expand on it.)
Miho to the tune of "Michelle"
Miho, my foe
That's a name that makes my blood run cold
You, Miho
Miho -- maho!
Kirei na maboroshi yo
Hidoi kedo
I'll stop you, I'll stop you, I'll stop you
With everything I've got
Until you're finally caught
I'll say the only words I know that you'll understand
Miho, kedo
Kimi wo korashitai yo
Ii deshou
I need to, I need to, I need to
I need to hurl you back
Before your next attack
Until I do here's hoping you will know what I mean
I'll stop you!
I want you, I want you, I want you
I want you gone from here
You'd better guard your rear
Until I do I'm telling you so you'll understand
Miho, kedo
Kimi wo korashitai yo
Ii deshou
And I will say the only words I know that you'll understand
You, Miho
(Apologies to John Lennon and Paul McCartney; thanks to Garran for flinging down ye olde gauntlet -- youse should know by now that I would never give tongue to such a sentiment!)
Michelle
Michelle ma belle
These are words that go together well
My Michelle
"Michelle, ma belle
Sont les mots qui vont trés bien ensemble
Trés bien ensemble"
I love you, I love you, I love you
That's all I want to say
Until I find a way
I'll say the only words I know that you'll understand
"Michelle, ma belle
Sont les mots qui vont trés bien ensemble
Trés bien ensemble"
I need to, I need to, I need to
I need to make you see
Oh what you mean to me
Until I do I'm hoping you will know what I mean
I love you
I want you, I want you, I want you
I think you know by now
I'll get to you somehow
Until I do I'm telling you so you'll understand
"Michelle ma belle
Sont les mots qui vont trés bien ensemble
Trés bien ensemble"
And I will say the only words I know that you'll understand
My Michelle
