David Geddes was put here on this Earth to make this song so that I could now do this to it:

Run, Zilla, Run

Daddy, please don't, it wasn't his fault
He turned to a zombie
Daddy, please don't, he'll be my pet sidekick
Just you wait and see

We were fighting off the horde
I really hate those guys
Then they all left but then came next
The sound of Yuki's cries...
She called to me, "Zilla-san,"
She said, "We've got to go soon
My dad is here and he brought mechs
Oh no, a whole platoon
And he's the lawman of this town
My God, he's goin' crazy
He says he's gonna put you down
Cause you're undead
Chains on your head so
RUN, ZILLA, RUN, ZILLA, RUN!"

Daddy, please don't, it wasn't his fault
He turned to a zombie
Daddy, please don't, he'll be my pet sidekick
Just you wait and see

She rode my head and I stomped around
Till we reached Yuki's place
She jumped on down, with tear-filled eyes
And bruises on her face
All at once, I saw him there
Calling reinforcements (Watch out!)
Then Yuki yelled "He's got a gun!"
And she stepped in front of me
Suddenly, his gun was gone, and I saw Yuki had it
She ran to Mom, and she held her close
Masamichi was in dismay
And I could still hear Yuki say...

Daddy, please don't
It wasn't his fault
He turned to a zombie
Daddy please don't
He'll be my pet sidekick...

RUN, ZILLA, RUN, ZILLA, RUN, ZILLA, RUN, ZILLA, RUN, ZILLA, RUN, ZILLA, RUN!

I was just about to add [1117] to the megatokyo.info stuff when I realized Yuki's words sounded exactly like this old song I'd heard a few times on the oldies station. Naturally several lines had to be thrown out and redone from scratch, but filking a song like this the real fun comes from just how much of it can be used completely unaltered.

Original lyrics:

Run, Joey, Run by David Geddes

(ANGELIC CHOIR AHH-ING)

Daddy, please don't, it wasn't his fault
He means so much to me
Daddy, please don't, we're gonna get married
Just you wait and see

Every night, the same old dream
I hate to close my eyes
I can't erase the memory
The sound of Julie's cries...
She called me up, late that night
She said, "Joe, don't come over
My dad and I just had a fight
And he stormed out the door
I've never seen him act this way
My God, he's goin' crazy
He says he's gonna make you pay
For what we've done
He's got a gun so
RUN, JOEY, RUN, JOEY, RUN!"

Daddy, please don't, it wasn't his fault
He means so much to me
Daddy, please don't, we're gonna get married
Just you wait and see

Got in my car and I drove like mad
Till I reached Julie's place
She ran to me, with tear-filled eyes
And bruises on her face
All at once, I saw him there
Sneaking up behind me (Watch out!)
Then Julie yelled "He's got a gun!"
And she stepped in front of me
Suddenly, a shot rang out, and I saw Julie falling
I ran to her, and I held her close
When I looked down, my hands were red
And here's the last words Julie said...

Daddy, please don't
It wasn't his fault
He means so much to me
Daddy please don't
We're gonna ... get... mar-ried...

(ANGELIC CHOIR AHH-ING AGAIN)

RUN, JOEY, RUN, JOEY, RUN, JOEY, RUN, JOEY, RUN, JOEY, RUN, JOEY, RUN!
