I'm feeling very misty after writing this. Honest to god, there's actual tears.

In Teh Ghetto

As the forum cranks...
When you thought this genre was fully milked
Another pop-music song gets filked
In teh ghetto.

And Nekura rants...
'Cuz if there's one thing that makes her gruff
It's a forum set-aside for this silly stuff
In teh ghetto.

Cortana, doncha understand,
You gotta make a change of plan,
Or she's gonna be an angry young fan some day!
Take a look around this place:
The pit of forum cyberspace!
Or will you simply "ROFLMAO"
Along with Count and Ray.

Well the forums run...
And the poor little artists with their noses pressed
'gainst the window panes are locked away from the rest
In teh ghetto.

And they have no fun...
So they rewrite Piro's comic strips
And they learn how to scribble
And they learn how to fic,
In teh ghetto.

Then one day a mod named Wyndham
Proposed the forums merge,
She makes a thread, asks for views,
Some people post, but in the end they lose.

And Nekura rants...
As the mods lock the thread where an angry young fan
Left 29 posts and a handful of spam
In teh ghetto.

The proposal dies,
When you thought this genre was fully milked
Another pop-music song gets filked
In teh ghetto...

In teh ghetto...

[big finish] IN TEH GHETTO.

In the Ghetto
Elvis Preseley

As the snow flies
On a cold and gray Chicago mornin'
A poor little baby child is born
In the ghetto
And his mama cries
'cause if there's one thing that she don't need
it's another hungry mouth to feed
In the ghetto

People, don't you understand
the child needs a helping hand
or he'll grow to be an angry young man some day
Take a look at you and me,
are we too blind to see,
do we simply turn our heads
and look the other way

Well the world turns
and a hungry little boy with a runny nose
plays in the street as the cold wind blows
In the ghetto

And his hunger burns
so he starts to roam the streets at night
and he learns how to steal
and he learns how to fight
In the ghetto

Then one night in desperation
a young man breaks away
He buys a gun, steals a car,
tries to run, but he don't get far
And his mama cries

As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man
face down on the street with a gun in his hand
In the ghetto

As her young man dies,
on a cold and gray Chicago mornin',
another little baby child is born
In the ghetto
My apologies to Tom Petty.

SDFW's Last Post
To the tune of "Mary Jane's Last Dance"

She grew out of a Megatokyo site
Had a straight sister-forum who never liked to write
But she drew nice art and she wrote nice scripts
With them Megatokyo fans 'bout a Megatokyo strip

Well she got kicked out in the Spring of '07
She'd blown the [disc]s away; seemed best they be splittin'
Filk to dedicate and we both started playin'
Some said, "I dig you, fanboy, but the forum's been strayin' - gone
The fun's moved on."

Last post on 'FW, one more filk to bury you
Summer influx creepin' in and I'm tired of this board again

Now we make art and we start threads
But Piro's slowed down ev'r since he had kids*
And views are goin' down, zilch to write about
Zilch to rescript, role-plays kicked out
"Oh why why?" "Please write more!"
"What do you think we pay you for?"
"Draw a dead-day," "Bring back ol' Dom,"
"Give me some comics or I won't stay long!"

Last post on 'FW, one more filk to bury you
Summer influx creepin' in and I'm tired of this board again

There's no one past the "Fanworks" wall
Corty's shot down the "Merge 'Em!" call
Writin' filks in a ghetto town
Hit first page then fall right down
"Oh why why?" "Please write more!"
"What do you think we pay you for?"
I get too bored to draw when I'm workin' alone
I write my last songfic, I browse to some *chan

Last post on 'FW, one more filk to bury you
Summer influx creepin' in and I'm tired of this board again

*Okay, one kid, but that doesn't rhyme as well
