[!filk]Well, I'm filking the Music Man again. Ever since Integral mentioned 76 Trombones, I've had bits and pieces of this bouncing around in my head and I had to get them out somehow.

76 ZOMBIES
Another Music Man Filk, by C*Foxtrot
Apologies to Meredith Willson
Seventy-six zombies led the big rampage
With a hundred and ten ravers from the Cave
They were followed by lots and lots of those rabid fanboy zealots;
Who frighten even the most brave.
Seventy-six zombies roamed the city streets
With a hundred and ten ravers alongside
It was a mix of undead ghouls breaking all the rules,
And fiends summoned from far and wide.
There were MT Police Patlabors to watch the horde
Rampaging, rampaging, on and on they came
Necromantic minions of an evil lord
Were they real or just part of a game?
There were fifty cardboard ph34rb0ts set before the swarm
Rampaging, rampaging, tearing up its course
Illegal counter-attacks halted the zombies in their tracks
Unprepared for an opposing force!
Seventy-six zombies went in search of brains
While a hundred and ten ravers kept the beat
Against cries of 'Ph34r Ph34r Ph34r!'
The undead masses drew near
But their permit said: "
next Tuesday!"

76 TROMBONES
(c)1957 M. Willson
Seventy six trombones led the big parade
With a hundred and ten cornets close at hand
They were followed by rows and rows of the finest virtuosos;
the cream of every famous band.
Seventy six trombones caught the morning sun
With a hundred and ten cornets right behind
There were more than a thousand reeds springing up like weeds,
There were horns of every shape and kind
There were copper bottom tympani in horse platoons
Thundering, thundering, all along the way
Double bell euphoniums and big bassoons
Each bassoon having his big fat say
There were fifty mounted cannon in the battery
Thundering, thundering, louder than before
Clarinets of every size and trumpeters who'd improvise
A full octave higher than the score
Seventy six trombones hit the counter point
While a hundred and ten cornets played the air
To the rhythm of 'Harch Harch Harch!'
All the kids began to march
And they're marching still, right today-----------------
Yeesh. This one was hard - took me a little over a week of on-and-off work. I was hoping to get it posted for my two-year forum anniversary yesterday, but I just couldn't get a few lines to work until today. My other filks have been pretty light-hearted, and this one was no exception. I have a lot of fun writing them and I think it must carry over into the words I put down.
And if you think 76 zombies aren't enough - those are just the ones
leading it.
